LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. —The Admissions department of Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus has introduced a new event for college-prepared students to explore academic programs and careers in the field of health sciences.

The program will feature informational sessions on Nursing (B.S.N.) and Physical Therapist Assistant (A.S.) programs and biology courses, as well as the admission process. Students may take the first two years of additional health-science programs at Fayette before completing their degree at any other Penn State campus.

Participants will take an interactive tour of the new, state-of-the-science Simulation Lab, featuring simulated human cadavers in a staged hospital setting. Lunch will be provided.

“Health Science Day is an excellent opportunity for students to engage in hands-on activities while exploring health careers,” said Pamela Pologruto, associate teaching professor in the Physical Therapist Assistant program.

“This new event will introduce high school students to science-related majors and professions via simulations and demonstrations with faculty in a laboratory environment,” said Melissa Miner, associate teaching professor and campus coordinator for Nursing.
