Penn State Harrisburg hosts William F. Simpson Jr. for talk on workplace ethics

HARRISBURG, Pa. — As part of this year’s Penn State Harrisburg Reads campaign, centered around Rebecca Skloot’s groundbreaking book, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks,” the college will welcome William F. Simpson Jr., former CEO and president of Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 18, to discuss ethics in the workplace.

Simpson is an experienced CEO and board director with 40 years in the hospitality and entertainment industries. He worked with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company for 21 years, serving as its CEO from 2013 until his retirement in January 2018. He is also known for developing a strong organization that focuses on company culture, team building, training and development, and succession planning. Simpson is a proven mentor and developer of leadership talent.

Penn State Harrisburg Reads is an event series hosted by the Office of Student Affairs and Engagement that selects a book every year to lead an interdisciplinary effort to both educate and unite the campus.
