UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Edward R. Jenkins, an instructor in accounting for the Penn State Smeal College of Business, has been nominated for a three-year term on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Council, the organization’s governing body.
Jenkins, an international and business taxation expert, is also a consultant for Boyer & Ritter LLC, a firm that provides accounting, auditing, tax and consulting services from its Camp Hill, Carlisle, Chambersburg and State College offices.
Nominated as one of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) representatives to the national association, Jenkins will start his term in October.
“I regard serving on the AICPA Council in the capacity of PICPA member-representative as a high honor,” Jenkins said. “My nomination underscores the commitment by Penn State and Boyer & Ritter to support and promote the accounting profession.”
Jenkins teaches graduate- and undergraduate-level courses in principles of taxation. He will also teach the introductory course for Smeal’s new online Graduate Certificate in Corporate Accounting, which is now enrolling for fall 2017.
