UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A program that has served more than 1,000 Penn State students since its inception 20 years ago will celebrate two decades of success with a special event in early November in the nation’s capital.

The Penn State Washington Program has invited its alumni, partners and supporters to a 20th anniversary celebration Nov. 7 at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C.

Established in 1995, the Washington Program was created to give students a complete Washington experience, including for-credit internship placement and housing, as well as access to special events and programs. Students from all areas of the University have participated in the Washington Program since its inception.

Over the years, those students have worked at the White House, on Capitol Hill, for news organizations like ABC, NBC, C-Span, NPR and for countless nonprofit organizations, nongovernmental organizations, and private companies.

Alumni and friends of the program may RSVP at comm.psu.edu/dc20rsvp, or contact Katie Sullivan (814-602-7986, kms5424@psu.edu), Washington Program coordinator, for more information.
