UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State World Campus and Leidos, a global science and technology solutions leader, have partnered to help professionals and their families advance their careers.
The educational partnership will provide a 5 percent tuition reduction to more than 31,000 Leidos employees and their spouses and legal dependents. The benefit is available beginning with the fall 2018 semester and applies to all of the more than 150 undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs available online through Penn State World Campus.
Leidos, a defense company headquartered in Reston, Virginia, provides scientific, engineering, systems integration and technical services for government and commercial customers. In 2018, the company was named a Thomson Reuters Top 100 Global Tech Leader and the sixth most respected IT services company by Fortune magazine. Leidos operates in more than 400 locations around the world.
“At Leidos, we create innovative solutions that solve the world’s most challenging problems — but we can’t achieve this without our talented workforce,” said David Brannon, Leidos vice president of corporate strategy and its Penn State corporate liaison. “This partnership will help improve the quality of life of our employees by providing them the convenience of pursuing online educational programs.”
Leidos employees will be able to utilize World Campus student services, including admissions, advising, academic and career counseling, disability counselors, tutoring services, and technology support. Penn State World Campus also has a dedicated undergraduate advising team for military students.
“We’re proud to extend these benefits to Leidos employees and their spouses and dependents, who can all earn a Penn State education with the flexibility of online learning,” said Karen Pollack, Penn State World Campus’ assistant vice provost for online and blended programs. “Penn State World Campus is committed to providing adult learners greater access to higher education.”
The agreement between World Campus and Leidos is through the Penn State World Campus Educational Alliance Program, which has more than 45 corporate education partners.
