Barbara Hong, associate professor of special education at Penn State Altoona, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialist project at Zirve University in Turkey.
The project, already under way, will continue until March 10. Hong is conducting professional development for faculty and facilitating in programmatic assessment for the university. She is 1 of more than 400 faculty and professionals chosen to travel the world this year through the Fulbright Specialist program, created in 2000 as a complement to the traditional Fulbright Scholar program.The Fulbright Specialist program provides short-term academic opportunities for U.S. faculty and professionals to support curricular and faculty development and institutional planning at post secondary academic institutions around the world.
