UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Higher education professionals from across the country who support adult learners are invited to submit proposals for breakout sessions they would like present at Penn State’s annual conference that brings together the advocates of this student population.

The annual Hendrick Best Practices for Adult Learners Conference is a signature event of the Penn State Commission for Adult Learners and provides a forum for the discussion, debate and exchange of ideas related to the research and best practices for adult learners.

This year’s conference will be held virtually on May 10-11.

The commission is accepting proposals through March 1. Faculty, administrators, academic advisers, counselors, researchers, student life staff and others in higher education who work in roles to help enhance the educational experience of adult learners are encouraged to submit a proposal.

The Hendrick Conference is named in honor of the late Shirley Hendrick, associate dean for continuing education in the Penn State Smeal College of Business. The commission, established in 1998, is composed of administrators, faculty and staff from across Penn State who are dedicated to reviewing policies and practices that will improve the adult learner experience at the University.
