UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free workshop titled "TA 101: Survive and Thrive as a Teaching Assistant" on Thursday, Aug. 27 from 12:45 to 2 p.m. in 315 Rider Building on the University Park campus of Penn State.
Because teaching assistants are situated in between faculty and students, the role requires skills in navigating potentially challenging situations. In this interactive workshop, presented by Research Associate Chas Brua and Graduate Consultants Lauren Brooks and David Favre, situations commonly encountered by teaching assistants will be discussed, along with ways to resolve them.
