Smeal College of Business welcomes 17 new faculty members

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Smeal College of Business welcomes 17 new members to its faculty for the 2014-15 academic year. The new faculty are:

-- Jonathan Bundy, assistant professor of management and organization, earned his doctoral degree from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business with a major in strategic management and organization theory and a minor in organizational behavior. He also holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in political science, both from the University of New Mexico.

-- Jason Kotter, assistant professor of finance, earned his doctoral degree in the University of Michigan’s Department of Finance. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, both in economics.

-- Stephen Lenkey, assistant professor of finance, comes to Smeal from a position as a financial economist with the Securities and Exchange Commission. He holds a doctoral degree in financial economics, a master’s degree in industrial administration, and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a juris doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester.

-- Suresh Muthulingam, assistant professor of supply chain management, comes to Smeal from Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, where he was an assistant professor of operations management. He holds a doctoral degree in decisions, operations, and technology management from the University of California, Los Angeles Anderson School of Management, as well as an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management and a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.

-- Lei (Michelle) Wang, assistant professor of information systems, earned her doctoral degree in operations and information management from the University of Connecticut’s School of Business. She earned her master’s degree in economics from Xi’an Jiaotong University and her bachelor’s degree in electronic science and technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology, both in China.

-- Hal White, associate professor of accounting, comes to Smeal from a position as assistant professor of accounting and the Ernst & Young Faculty Fellow at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He holds a doctoral degree in accounting from Penn State, an MBA from the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

-- Robert Aalberts, clinical professor of business law, comes to Smeal from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was the Lied Professor of Legal Studies in the Department of Accounting. He holds a juris doctor from Loyola University in New Orleans, a master’s degree in geography from the University of Missouri, and a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences and geography from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota.

-- Brian Cameron, associate dean for professional master’s programs and clinical professor of management information systems, comes to Smeal from the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology, where he served as executive director for the Center of Enterprise Architecture and program director for the Master of Professional Studies in Enterprise Architecture. He also has extensive consulting experience with firms like Siemens, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Boeing Corporation, Oracle Corporation, Avaya Inc. and more. Cameron holds a doctoral degree in learning and performance systems, and an MBA, both from Penn State. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Shippensburg University.

-- Edward Jenkins, instructor in accounting, has extensive professional accounting and tax experience, most recently as tax director for CBIZ MHM, LLC, in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. He holds a master of taxation degree from the Villanova School of Law as well as an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in international economics, both from Penn State.

-- Charles Kile, senior instructor in accounting, comes to Smeal from a position as associate professor of accounting at Middle Tennessee State University. He holds a doctoral degree in accounting from Washington University in St. Louis, a master of science in business administration from Washington University, an MBA from Regent University and a bachelor’s degree from Lee University.

-- Patricia Patrick, clinical associate professor of accounting, previously served as an associate professor of accounting at Shippensburg University. She also has more than 15 years of professional experience in accounting and finance. She holds a doctoral degree, an MBA and a bachelor’s degree from Penn State Harrisburg.

-- Hansa Sinha, instructor in management and information systems, comes to Smeal from Lock Haven University, where she served as an assistant professor of business and computer science. She holds a doctoral degree in information sciences in technology and an MBA from Penn State, a master’s degree in industrial relations from Xavier Labor Relations Institute in India, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from St. Xavier’s College in India.

-- Stephen Tracey, executive director of the Center for Supply Chain Research and instructor in supply chain management, has nearly 20 years of professional experience in finance and supply chain, most recently as senior vice president of global supply chain at Standard Textile Company, Inc. He holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Penn State.

-- Quang “Neo” Bui, visiting assistant professor of management information systems, earned his doctoral degree in business with an information systems concentration from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, in May. He also holds a master’s degree in information system management and a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Brigham Young University.

-- Rachel Graefe-Anderson, visiting assistant professor of finance, holds a doctoral degree in finance and a master’s degree in economics, both from Purdue University, and bachelor’s degrees in computer science and management science and information systems from Penn State.

-- J. Andrew Hansz, visiting professor of real estate, holds a doctoral degree from Georgia State University, an MBA from Lehigh University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Penn State.

-- Jason Lunn, visiting professor of finance, earned his doctoral degree in finance from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in May, where he also earned his MBA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
