Smeal graduate named to 30 under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars list

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Keith Unton, who earned a degree in supply chain management in 2010 and an Executive MBA in 2017, both from the Penn State Smeal College of Business, has been named to the fourth annual 30 Under 30 Rising Supply Chain Stars list, which is a partnership between Thomas and the Institute for Supply Management.

Unton is a senior supply chain manager at The Hershey Company. He is in charge of Hershey’s Walmart and Sam’s Club supply chains.

He started at The Hershey Company in 2010 as a supply chain associate and started quickly climbing the corporate ladder. He was promoted to senior specialist (external manufacturing), then external manufacturing manager, supply chain manager of The Hershey Experience, and finally to his current position in June 2017.

In his time at Smeal as an undergraduate, Unton was a member of the Sapphire Leadership Academic Program, which is designed for high-achieving students who have been accepted to Smeal and would like to enhance their business school experience. Unton graduated as the valedictorian of his Executive MBA class.

Thomas provides actionable information, data, analysis, and tools that align with and support today’s industrial buying process. The Institute for Supply Management was founded in 1915 and now serves 47,000 members in more than 100 countries.

Applications are currently being accepted for the next Smeal Executive MBA class. The deadline is May 1. More information on Smeal’s Executive MBA Program can be found online.
