DUNMORE, Pa. — Students interested in enrolling for summer/fall 2020 can do so starting Aug. 1, gaining more time to begin, and complete, their applications.
Those who complete the application by Nov. 1 will be considered "early-action applicants" and receive an admissions decision by Dec. 24 and receive notice of their student aid package in mid-February, giving them more time to sort out their financial position.
“At Penn State Scranton, our admission staff is ready and waiting to help any early-action applicants who are interested in Penn State,” said Director of Enrollment Services Sandra Feather. “We have an upcoming open house on Aug. 8, where we can help start the process and counselors available to help them fill out the necessary paperwork and sort through financial aid options.”
Early action does not obligate admitted students to attend Penn State. Early-action applicants still have until May 1, 2020, to make their decision.
Feather also points out that prospective students interested in starting their college career prior to summer/fall 2020 still have time to register for both the fall 2019 and spring 2020 semesters at the local campus.
“We can accept new students here at Penn State Scranton throughout the year, although they do need to understand that they may face certain limitations in terms of class availability and financial aid," said Feather.
