UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University Faculty Senate is seeking interested faculty for the position of University Faculty Ombud, to serve a four-year term. Current or emeritus faculty members are encouraged to express interest.
To be considered for this position or to nominate a colleague, send a letter of interest/nomination to Erin Eckley at ele2@psu.edu by March 21. If nominating a colleague, secure the colleagues’ agreement to be nominated before submitting the nomination.

Duties of the University Faculty Ombud are outlined in the Senate Standing Rules, Article III, Section 9: The University Faculty Ombud shall coordinate the training of all college and campus ombud; shall provide for the appropriate dissemination of information among the various college and campus ombudspersons; and shall be the University-level contact for the various college and campus ombud. The University Faculty Ombud shall report periodically to the Senate Council and shall maintain liaison with the Office of the University Provost, the Office of Human Resources and the Office of the University Faculty Senate. The University Faculty Ombud shall have no appeal function.
