University Libraries offers scholarship options for undergraduates

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. —  Are you an undergraduate student who uses the University Libraries? Do you struggle to pay for your education? Consider applying for a University Libraries scholarship.

The University Libraries offers a number of awards annually to Penn State undergraduates who are considering pursuing a master’s degree in library science, library information science or librarianship. Other scholarships target those in the College of Liberal Arts, a STEM field or those who have been in foster care. These scholarships are intended to help with current school costs, and awards start at $500.

If you’ve never thought about a career in libraries, you may not be aware of the wide range of career paths that exist in this field, in the academic, business or public realm. Library professionals work in teaching and research, and have access to the latest technology in the field of information delivery.

The deadline for submission of the scholarship application is Friday, April 26. Descriptions of each award, application details and an application form are available online.
