University Park fall commencement ceremonies to be live streamed

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Because inclement weather may cause travel issues for those seeking to attend this weekend’s commencement exercises at the University Park campus, Penn State will be live streaming the ceremonies.

The Saturday, Dec. 17, ceremonies will be available to view online at http://commencement.psu.edu/index.html.

The baccalaureate and associate degree ceremony for the colleges of Agricultural Sciences; Earth and Mineral Sciences; Engineering; Information Sciences and Technology and the Smeal College of Business will begin at 9 a.m.

The baccalaureate and associate degree ceremony for the colleges of Arts and Architecture; Communications; Education; Health and Human Development; Liberal Arts; Nursing and the Eberly College of Science will begin at 12:30 p.m.

The ceremony for the Graduate School will begin at 4:30 p.m.

For participants and families attending the ceremonies in person, Penn State officials urge those traveling to and from campus to use caution and leave additional time in their schedules for travel. People are reminded to check the weather forecasts in their own areas, as well as in the area of their destination campus.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 770 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application, by calling 5-1-1 or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
