UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s School of Public Policy will present a webinar presentation about the master of public policy (MPP) degree at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
The webinar presentation will focus on curriculum, career opportunities for graduates, the application process, options for Penn State undergraduates, and program requirements. The live session will last 60 minutes and will include time for questions from attendees.
Chris Witko, associate director of the Penn State School of Public Policy and professor of public policy and political science, will host the webinar presentation.
“There is a high demand for people with the skills to develop solutions to major social issues and for those who are passionate about policy advocacy. The MPP program focuses on developing essential analytic skills and practical policy knowledge to help drive real-world results.” Witko said, adding that the webinar gives him the opportunity to explain who should pursue a master’s degree in public policy. "The MPP degree is for students who want to analyze public problems and recommend improvements to help execute good policy.”
The MPP program, established in 2018, is open to students from any major who are interested in public policy advocacy. The program’s first cohort includes students with a variety of undergraduate degrees including journalism, anthropology, history, criminology, political science and sociology.
