Working group to offer summer workshop series on Open Education Engagement

Designed to introduce faculty and staff — particularly instructors, librarians and instructional designers — to topics related to open education, with the potential to lower the costs of course materials for students.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Open and Affordable Educational Resources (OAER) Working Group is offering a series of virtual workshops on Open Education Engagement during the 2022 summer session. The workshops are designed to introduce Penn State faculty and staff — particularly instructors, librarians and instructional designers — to topics related to open education, with the potential to lower the costs of course materials for students.

“Having access to course materials is a key component of student success,” said Christina Riehman-Murphy, OAER librarian, Penn State University Libraries. “This series is designed to support faculty and staff in identifying and using open educational resources and library-licensed materials that meet Penn State course outcomes.”

Three series, each consisting of three to four sessions, will be offered during the 2022 summer session. Please click the registration link for more information, including session dates and times. Recordings will be available for those unable to attend all of the sessions in a series.
