UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Undergraduate students at Penn State interested in learning more about undergraduate research and creative inquiry and how can they get involved can attend workshops scheduled throughout the fall 2019 semester.
Students don’t need to have any previous experience with research, and there are no prerequisites for attending. Undergraduates from all academic disciplines are encouraged to attend.
Alan Rieck, associate vice president and associate dean for Undergraduate Education, said students do better in the classroom and are more connected to their own learning when they engage with faculty and staff in research.
“It is our ultimate aim that every Penn State student who wants to participate in undergraduate research will have that opportunity,” Rieck said. “These new workshops are intended to open the door of possibilities for students who are wondering what undergraduate research is all about.”
