Zydney joins Biotechnology and Bioengineering Board of Review Editors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Andrew Zydney, Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, has agreed to serve on the Board of Review Editors for Biotechnology and Bioengineering.

He has been a member of the editorial board since 2003.

Zydney was invited to serve on the Board of Review Editors during a recent growth initiative and was cited for his exemplary achievements in the field of biotechnology, specifically, in the area of bioseparations. He will join a select group of individuals, all experts in their area of study, to identify scientific experts to provide critical and relevant reviews and mini-reviews.

Zydney has been a Penn State faculty member since 2002 and served as the chemical engineering department head from 2004 to 2014.

He is a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and he serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Membrane Science.

Established in 1959, Biotechnology and Bioengineering is a peer-reviewed scientific journal covering all aspects of biotechnology including biocatalysis, biofuels, biomaterials, bioprocessing, biosensors, metabolic and cellular engineering, environmental biotechnology, synthetic biology and tissue engineering.

In 2009, the BioMedical and Life Sciences Division of the Special Libraries Association listed Biotechnology and Bioengineering as one of the 100 most influential journals in biology and medicine of the past century.
