The 10th annual Neiman Marcus “Giving is Always in Fashion” events on Nov. 30  and Dec. 1 at the Hotel Hershey raised $107,000 for Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Children’s Hospital. The funds will benefit the Hummingbird Program, which supports patients with complex, life-limiting medical conditions.

Neiman Marcus hosted an exclusive “Up Close and Personal” event on Nov. 30 where guests had the chance to peruse the exquisite fashions designed by Naeem Kahn. The event on Dec. 1 featured a basket auction, jewelry raffle, luncheon program and Naeem Kahn runway show.

Kahn’s son, Zaheen, attended and spoke about the spring/summer and resort 2018 collection, which was handmade in India. The program featured remarks by Dr. Leslie Walker-Harding, chair of pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital, Jeanne Arnold, event chair, and Amanda Coble, mother of Hummingbird patient Malaya Coble.

“At 9 days old, Malaya received her first surgery,” Amanda shared. “This allowed her NICU doctors and specialists to diagnosis her with an extremely rare genetic disorder—megacystis microcolon intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome.

“Sitting down with the Hummingbird team helped us focus on what the change would look like for our family, the emotional and logistical support we would need, and what our long-term goals would be for Malaya and how we could reach them as a team.”

The event also honored Jeanne and Ed Arnold for helping to found the Hummingbird Program, which has now assisted more than 500 patients and families. In the decade since the Neiman Marcus Fashion Show began, it has raised a total of $785,000 to support the program, thanks to the generosity of the Arnolds, sponsors and guests.
