Committee advances plan to keep graduate apartment rates flat for 2022-23

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — White Course Apartment lease rates at the University Park campus will not be increasing for the 2022-23 academic year based on a proposal advanced today (Sept. 16) by the Penn State Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning.

The proposed rates will go to the full board for consideration on Friday, Sept. 17.

The rates include no increases for units including the one-bedroom unit at $1,168 per month; two-bedroom at $1,321; three-bedroom at $1,459; three-bedroom apartments with an extra half bath at $1,474; and four-bedroom quad apartments at $938 per tenant per month.

John Papazoglou, associate vice president for Auxiliary and Business Services, noted that starting next year, the rates will be held flat; however, the cost for parking will no longer be bundled with White Course Apartment leases. Students who wish to have a parking permit can still purchase one at the start of the academic year.

Student parking registration will be available exclusively online via Penn State Transportation Services. Registration details will be available before the start of the fall 2022 semester. Information on available student permit options is available here

The housing rates will continue to include all utilities, laundry, cable TV and wireless internet.

White Course Apartments at Penn State include 124 family units and 72 single-student units, and are reserved for graduate students and undergraduate students with families. Additional information about graduate housing can be found at https://housing.psu.edu/graduate-family-housing.
