CVIM, Penn State to hold COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Jan. 26

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) and Penn State will host a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) on the University Park campus. Appointments will first be made available to Penn State students who need first, second or booster doses and then the clinic will welcome Penn State faculty and staff and local community members to fill the remaining appointment slots.

The clinic is open to individuals age 12 or older who need either a first, second or booster dose of any of the three authorized COVID-19 vaccines. Drop-ins are welcome, though appointments are encouraged and can be made online. Individuals should enter the Jordan Center through Gate B.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is available for a first, second or booster dose for individuals ages 12 and older. The Moderna vaccine is available for first, second and booster dose for individuals ages 18 and older, as well as in a third dose for individuals ages 18 and older who are immunocompromised. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available for first doses and boosters for individuals ages 18 and up.

Booster shots are available for individuals who qualify:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech: Individuals ages 12 and older who were fully vaccinated more than five months ago
  • Moderna: Individuals ages 18 and older who were fully vaccinated more than five months ago
  • Johnson & Johnson: Individuals ages 18 and older who were fully vaccinated more than two months ago

Individuals who wish to receive a vaccine must wear a mask while inside the BJC and bring photo identification and, for those who are getting a second or booster dose, their vaccine card. Individuals will need to complete a vaccine consent form and wait inside the BJC for approximately 15 minutes after receiving their first shot.
