UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM) and Penn State will host a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, inside the Bryce Jordan Center (BJC) on the University Park campus.

The clinic is open to anyone age 12 or older who needs either a first, second or booster dose of any of the three authorized COVID-19 vaccines. Drop-ins are welcome, though appointments are encouraged and can be made online. Individuals should enter the BJC through Gate B.

“We’re delighted to work with Penn State again to bring this vaccination clinic to the Centre Region,” said Cheryl White, executive director of CVIM. “This is an opportune time for such a clinic, with students arriving this weekend and the changing vaccination guidelines for the best protection from the omicron variant. We really hope students and members of the community will come out to get boosted or to get their first or second dose.”

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is available for a first, second or booster dose for individuals ages 12 and older. The Moderna vaccine is available for first, second and booster dose for individuals ages 18 and older as well as in a third dose for individuals ages 18 and older who are immunocompromised. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is available for first doses and boosters for individuals ages 18 and up.

Booster shots are available for individuals who qualify:

  • Pfizer-BioNTech: individuals ages 12 and older who were fully vaccinated more than five months ago

  • Moderna: individuals ages 18 and older who were fully vaccinated more than six months ago

  • Johnson & Johnson: individuals ages 18 and older who were fully vaccinated more then two months ago

Individuals who wish to receive a vaccine must wear a mask while inside the BJC and bring photo identification and, for those who are getting a second or booster dose, their vaccine card. Individuals will need to complete a vaccine consent form and wait inside the BJC for approximately 15 minutes after receiving their shot.
