MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Board of Trustees voted to re-elect Mark H. Dambly as chair and Matthew W. Schuyler as vice chair during its meeting today (July 18) at Penn State Brandywine.
Dambly has been a member of the board since being appointed by Gov. Ed Rendell in 2010. He served as vice chair before being elected chair in 2017. Dambly was re-elected chair in 2018, and this year re-elected in a 24-to-12 vote over Trustee William Oldsey.
Julie Anna Potts, who nominated Dambly for re-election, cited a number of accomplishments and initiatives under Dambly, including a focus on transparency and communications; an emphasis on measurable results; advancing succession planning; and prioritizing access and affordability, inclusion and mental health for students.
Schuyler ran unopposed for vice chair. He has been a member of the board since 2015, and was first elected to the vice chair position in 2017.
