UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi will host a virtual update on April 20 at 2 p.m. at liveevents.psu.edu about progress and plans regarding efforts to foster diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) across the University. Joining Bendapudi for the discussion will be Jennifer Hamer, special adviser for institutional equity and interim associate vice provost for Educational Equity.

During the event, Bendapudi and Hamer will discuss the eight-week process to inventory and evaluate DEIB programs and resources, as well as highlight key findings, strengths and gaps, and recommendations and initial next steps.

“I am so thankful for Jennifer and her team’s leadership throughout this process,” Bendapudi said. “While they were working under a condensed timeline, I appreciate the high-level view their work took, which will help us to better understand Penn State’s opportunities and challenges as we consider short and long-term priorities for advancing DEIB across the University.”

Driving DEIB progress across Penn State is one of Bendapudi’s five central goals as part of her vision for the University. Among recent efforts, Penn State launched a new public DEIB dashboard that collects and tracks DEIB information from across the institution in one central location.

For those who are unable to view live, the conversation will be archived shortly after and available on liveevents.psu.edu.
