Excellence in Management course for managers and directors begins June 14

If you are a University manager or director who wants to advance your career, take a greater leadership role, or fulfill your potential through effective leadership skills training, the Excellence in Management (EIM) course from Penn State’s Center for Workplace Learning & Performance is for you.

EIM is a joint offering between the Office of Human Resources and Penn State Executive Programs, and is designed to provide strategic leadership perspectives and skills to full-time managers and directors who set vision and strategy for a unit, manage budgets, or manage a group of employees.

Participants will learn how to create and implement strategy, set strategic priorities and deal with challenges, develop budgeting skills and financial accountability, and explore ethical decision making, and additional leadership skills.

All sessions in this six-week course run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays (June 14, 21 and 28, and July 12, 19 and 26) in Room 201 of the Keller Building. Registration is set to close May 20. There is no fee for this course and lunch is included. No class July 5.
