UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Human Resources, in partnership with Health Advocate, has announced a three-pronged approach for the 2020 flu vaccine clinics throughout the commonwealth. The vaccines are free for all Penn State employees, regardless of participation in a University-sponsored health care plan. Employees can choose one of the three options below.
- Employees who are members of Penn State's health care plan, as in the past, can receive a vaccine at any network pharmacy or at their primary physician’s office. These employees do not need a voucher, but simply need to take their CVS Caremark prescription drug card to a network pharmacy to use this benefit immediately.
- All employees (full-, part-time, etc.) and all eligible spouses (those covered under the Penn State health care plan) can utilize drive-through clinics which will be held at most campuses. Employees do not need to be benefit-eligible and do not need to participate in the Penn State health care plan to participate in the drive through clinics. These clinics will be held late September through late October.
- Finally, employees who do not participate in the Penn State health care plan, or who are not benefit-eligible, can also request a voucher to receive a vaccine at CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Rite Aid and Safeway pharmacies, where available.
Additional information, including clinic schedules, registration information, and how to obtain a voucher, will be provided via an email to your Penn State email address by early next week.
