LionPATH changes coming soon for advisers and faculty

The LionPATH Development and Maintenance Organization (LDMO) announced today that it will soon retire the "Classic Advisor Center" view in LionPATH.

This view, which has been in place since LionPATH went live in 2016, will be retired in mid-May. At that time, "Advisor Home Base," which has been an optional view in LionPATH since July 2019 will become the primary view for all academic advisers.

“Ensuring a positive experience for both our students and their advisers as they work together toward a meaningful educational experience is of utmost importance,” said Misty Patcyk, director of the LionPATH Development and Maintenance Organization. “Advisor Home Base provides robust capabilities for academic advisers to have one consistent and modern experience when using LionPATH to support students.”

Advisor Home Base features a simpler, more modern user experience, a student profile, a “See What the Student Sees” feature, and an easier way to access information and tools with fewer clicks.

The LDMO recommends those who have not yet made the transition begin to do so between now and May 12 to become more familiar with Advisor Home Base. To help those who are not as familiar with Advisor Home Base yet, a help document is available on the LionPATH Support Faculty & Staff help site under “Academic Advising in LionPATH,” then “Advisor Home Base.”

Faculty Center Upgrade

With the retirement of Classic Advisor Center, the Classic Faculty Center view will be reimagined as Faculty Home Base and become more closely tied with Advisor Home Base. This change is also slated for mid-May.

Faculty advisers will be able to move around LionPATH rather more seamlessly than moving in and out of separate centers and benefit from the faculty functionality being embedded into the full range of Advisor Home Base features. Faculty that are not academic advisers will retain access to the same functionality that is currently available to them, with a more modern display of some features.

For a preview of the changes coming May 12, a help document is available on the LionPATH Support Faculty & Staff help site under “Faculty Home Base in LionPATH,” then “Faculty Home Base.”
