UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Although the new LionPATH student information system is not yet operational, there has been a lot of activity going on behind the scenes, and the LionPATH team has been very busy configuring and testing the system.
The transition from the Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) to LionPATH will begin very soon with the release of the first module. LionPATH is implementing a phased roll-out approach, meaning that the various facets of the system will be released to correspond with the life cycle of a student who is entering Penn State for the fall 2016 semester.
Because of this phased roll-out, undergraduate, graduate and the professional schools’ admissions processes are the first modules to go live. The reason for this is that students who want to enter Penn State in fall 2016 will begin submitting their applications in the coming weeks. Subsequent modules (records and registration, class, schedule, financial aid, student billing, advising) will be released in phases throughout the academic year, as they occur for transactions affecting the fall 2016 semester. Please visit Project LionPATH's timeline to see when the various functionalities will be released.
In addition to admissions, this release also includes academic structure and the campus community.
- Academic Structure provides the foundation of the new system and reflects the organizational and academic organization to Penn State.
- Campus Community provides the capability to maintain the bio/demo record for students and other persons within LionPATH.
- Admissions provides the ability to maintain and process application data from submission through the decision process.
Below are some frequently asked questions about the conversion from ISIS to LionPATH.
Will student records be in ISIS or LionPATH?
After August 2015 the following records will be kept in LionPATH:
- New admits for fall 2016
The following records will be updated in ISIS until the enrollment "go-live" (February 2016).
- New admits prior to fall 2016
- Currently enrolled students
What data will be brought into LionPATH?
- Transfer articulation rules
- Admissions test scores
- External organizations (ex. high schools, colleges, universities and companies) were converted in mid-July 2015 and require manual synchronization with ISIS.

When will students have access to LionPATH?
Currently enrolled students will continue to use eLion until February 2016 when students will begin to use LionPATH for activities related to fall 2016, such as registering for classes.
When will staff get trained on the new system?
Classroom and Adobe Connect training sessions will be provided prior to the date of release. Training is designed to be role-based with different classes offered to groups who use different functionality. In addition to the training materials that are being developed, an online library of help tutorials is being built that will be available for familiarization with the system and self-paced training on specific processes. Specific information about classes and who needs to attend Release 1 training was released in early summer. For more information about training for Release 1, visit LionPATH's most recent blog post on this subject.
Time frame for admissions training:
