New Employee Assistance Program provider announced

Penn State is offering a new Employee Assistance Program (EAP), called Health Advocate, for eligible employees and their family members. Health Advocate's all-in-one benefit includes the EAP as well as the Healthcare Help services.

Both services are accessible through one phone number: 866-799-2728. Current Penn State employees who are benefits-eligible, along with their spouse, dependent children, parents and parents-in-law are eligible to use Health Advocate.

Health Advocate is the nation's leading health care advocacy and assistance company, and is the 2011 Global Winner of Workforce Magazine's Optimas Award in the Service category. The Healthcare Help service features personalized help to find the right providers/hospitals, locate eldercare, support services, and resolve clinical and insurance-related issues. The EAP+Work/Life program offers short-term counseling and support for personal, family and work issues. These services are available 24/7 and all personal information is kept confidential.

Another key benefit from the Health Advocate program is the availability of the Tobacco Cessation Program, which provides employees with 13 weeks of unlimited access to a personal coach who can help participants set up individualized plans to quit smoking.
