UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Users who need to reset an expired or forgotten Penn State Access Account password will do so via a new interface beginning Sept. 12.
Providing a modern look and a more user-friendly experience, the new password management interface is the most recent part of Penn State’s plan to improve the systems that support the digital identity of students, faculty and staff. A new online activation process for Penn State Access Accounts was just implemented on Sept. 5.
In addition to an updated look, users can now initiate the forgotten password process via a personal email address (if available) directly from the interface. Previously, users who had set security questions needed to go online to Penn State Password Management to begin the process for restoring a forgotten password. Otherwise, users would have to contact the IT Service Desk for assistance. This change also further aligns Identity and Access Management at Penn State with updated password guidelines from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
