Pasquerilla Spiritual Center temporarily closed; worship services suspended

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Pasquerilla Spiritual Center and Eisenhower Chapel, which houses the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Development, closed on March 18 as part of Penn State’s efforts to maintain public health and safety in the face of the coronavirus outbreak.

The University understands the importance of the center for many of the faith communities and students. However, in the best interest of protecting the Penn State and surrounding community at this time, the University will close the facility and suspend all programming and activities, including all worship services.

During the closure, the center is recommending that students pray/worship in their place of residence, if possible, as an alternative, as social distancing measures are being encouraged by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to avoid contracting and limiting the spread of the coronavirus.

Center staff will be contacting anyone with scheduled reservations for events, such as weddings, to discuss options.
