Penn State employees reminded of policy on relationships with loan lenders

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended by the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008, requires institutions of higher education to publish a code of conduct with regard to employees' relationships with loan lenders.

Penn State Policy FN22 applies to all Penn State officers, employees and agents who engage in any University business transactions with lenders who provide education loans. This policy provides a framework in which University officers, employees and agents assist students with education loan information or interact with lenders and their representatives in an objective and fair way, while adhering to the highest professional and ethical standards. Every year, the University must provide all officers, employees and agents a notice regarding Penn State's policy on institutional and employee relationships with education loan lenders.
