UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State President Eric Barron has begun "Digging Deeper." The University’s 18th president is now blogging about what is happening at Penn State and beyond.

The blog name, "Digging Deeper," was chosen as a play on Barron’s background as a geologist and researcher who has worked to understand the history of our planet. An accomplished scientist with an extensive background in atmospheric research as well, Barron is intensely interested in the earth and its systems, rocks, minerals, resources, climate, and the processes by which they change. The title also reflects Barron’s desire to delve into issues impacting Penn State, the nation and the world.

In his first post, Barron talks about how he sees the blog, gives a shout-out to recognized faculty and the women's soccer team and asks for feedback from readers.
