      President's blog: Brown bags and bright ideas

      UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- In his new blog, "Digging Deeper," Penn State President Eric Barron receives a pleasant surprise at a brown-bag luncheon in the form of a crash course chronicling the University's major efforts to study infectious disease.

      The work, under the Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics, spans five academic colleges and 15 departments across the University, and includes everything from fundamental research to vaccine development to virus detection to epidemic modeling.
