UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Seven Penn State alumni selected by the Penn State Board of Trustees will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award, which is the University's highest honor presented to its alumni. The following individuals have been officially notified of their selection by the Board and are invited to accept the award from the University in 2019:
— John M. Arnold, chairman and CEO of PPC Lubricants Inc., and former chair, CEO and owner of Petroleum Products Corp., earned his MBA from the Smeal College of Business (1987).
— Delbert E. Day, Curators' Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Materials Science and Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, earned his master of science and doctorate in ceramic science from the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (1960, 1961).
— Charles W. Dent, senior policy adviser, DLA Piper, and former representative of the 15th District of Pennsylvania to the U.S. House of Representatives, received his bachelor of arts in foreign service and international politics from the College of the Liberal Arts (1982).
— Gail E. Latimer, consultant, Allegheny Health Network Nursing, and former hospital CEO and nurse executive, earned her bachelor of science in nursing from the College of Health and Human Development (1983).
— Matthew G. Millen, sports analyst for the Big Ten Network, and former NFL color commentator, executive and professional football player, earned a bachelor of science in marketing from the Smeal College of Business (1980).
— John W. Storer, III, retired executive vice president of Osmose Wood Preserving Company, earned his bachelor of science in forestry from the College of Agricultural Sciences (1950).
— Christopher L. Wolfgang, chief, Division of Surgical Oncology, John L. Cameron Professor of Surgery, professor of surgery, pathology and oncology, at Johns Hopkins Medicine, earned his bachelor of science degree in science from the Eberly College of Science; his master of science in physiology, interdisciplinary fields; and completed his residency at the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (1989, 1991, 2004).
