Students, faculty, staff required to update Penn State wireless setup

On Oct. 11, a recurring issue that prevents many University community members from successfully connecting to Penn State wireless will be addressed by technical staff. As part of this effort, students, faculty, staff members and visitors at every Penn State campus location are encouraged to update the wireless setup on each of their laptops, tablets, smartphones or other wireless-enabled devices prior to Oct. 11.

Individuals who use Android devices do not need to update their wireless setup.

Making the required updates in advance — which should only take a few minutes — will help you avoid delays connecting to the “psu” and “eduroam” wireless networks beginning on Oct. 11.

Detailed wireless setup instructions and answers to frequently asked questions are available at wireless.psu.edu/update.

Faculty and staff members who have questions and/or do not have administrative rights to their wireless-enabled device(s) will need to contact their area’s IT support staff.

For assistance, call the IT Service Desk at 814-865-4357.
