UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In a video message to the Penn State community ahead of his May 8 retirement, President Eric J. Barron reflects on his time at Penn State and expresses his thanks and gratitude to all of the students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends and supporters who have contributed to the University’s success over the last eight years.
“I consider it a tremendous gift that I’ve had the opportunity to serve in this role,” Barron said. “I’ve watched so many different times in which you could see the vision of Penn Staters, the contributions of Penn Staters. So many times where we set a goal and we surpassed that goal. So many times where you felt that sense of community and pride in everything that we do. I have just tremendous love for Penn State. And I know that’s because of all of the Penn Staters and all of our partners and how it is that we’ve worked together to make a great University even greater.”
