UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Enjoy the fall weather and get outside with the Penn State Extension’s Master Gardener program for a new Walk & Talk series at the Pasto Agricultural Museum starting Sept. 19.
Each month, a Master Gardener from Centre County will give a short presentation on a new topic followed by a walk through the nearby Ag Progress Days Demonstration Garden at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs in Ferguson Township, Centre County.
The three-part series includes:
- Weed Walk: Tuesday, Sept. 19, 10-11 a.m. Join the Master Gardeners in learning about many of central Pennsylvania's common garden and yard weeds. The talk will include a walk through the Ag Progress Days Demonstration Garden and surrounding property. Bring your questions and your weeds!
- Favorite Things: Tuesday, Oct. 10, 10-11 a.m. During this session, the Master Gardeners will share some of their favorite plants and practices with a talk accompanied by a walk through the Ag Progress Days Demonstration Garden and surrounding property.
- Glorious Garlic: Tuesday, Nov. 14, 10-11 a.m. The Master Gardeners will be planting their 2023 garlic crop at the Ag Progress Days Demonstration Garden while discussing the steps involved in planting, growing and harvesting garlic in your home garden.
Wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather for all three sessions. No registration is required.
The Pasto Agricultural Museum is located at Gate K of the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center in Rock Springs, nine miles southwest of State College on Route 45. The address is 2710 W. Pine Grove Road.
