In this Common Read event, Melinda Furer will lead attendees in an experiential investigation of the ways in which shame isolated the characters in "Transcendent Kingdom," preventing them from receiving support in their depression, grief and addiction struggles. We will also discuss ways in which this process impacts mental health treatment in our broader society today.
