'Destination Unknown: Mapping Career Pathways in the 21st Century'

Penn State Altoona will offer "Destination Unknown: Mapping Career Pathways in the 21st Century" from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, in the Edith Davis Eve Chapel.
Three speakers will offer professional expertise from different academic disciplines and answer questions from students.
The series is designed to help students who may be weighing talents and interests against employability and a “sensible” major or who are pondering what a college education means in the long run.

Penn State Altoona Chancellor Ron Darbeau
A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Darbeau holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in chemistry from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus, and both master’s and doctoral degrees in organic chemistry from Johns Hopkins University. He has secured over $2 million in grants for research, research training, infrastructure and student aid. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed papers and has mentored more than 80 undergraduate and graduate students, many of whom are co-authors of his publications.
Victoria Kellogg, assistant teaching professor of nursing at Penn State Altoona
Kellogg has worked as a registered nurse in the acute care and home care settings, as a nurse practitioner in the correctional and community settings, as a director of nursing in the correctional setting, and as a faculty member at several universities. She has published and presented on health care quality-related projects.
Domenic Frunzi, ceramic artist and teacher
Domenic holds a bachelor of science degree in art education from Penn State. He is a high school teacher and ceramic artist with his own studio, Frunzi Ceramics, in Philadelphia. He has been featured on, and sold work through, Food52, Urban Outfitters, YOWIE, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and Bon Appetit/Healthish.
