Study Abroad and World Languages Panel, Oct. 6

Penn State Altoona will hold a study abroad and language panel on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Students will learn how studying a second language can lead to educational, internship, volunteer, and professional opportunities abroad.

Three panelists will share their experiences and answer questions:

  • Mark McNicholas, doctorate, majored in East Asian Studies as an undergraduate at Penn State. Today, he is a scholar of imperial China and an associate professor of history at Penn State Altoona.
  • Annalise Mara is a 2022 graduate of Penn State with a double major in advertising and public relations and Spanish. She also earned three minors: global language and culture, international studies, and teaching English to speakers of other languages. Annalise completed a study abroad program in Spain and now works in Korea teaching English.
  • Carollynn Stefanko is a current Penn State student majoring in Asian studies with a minor in Korean. She spent the summer in Korea on an internship.
