To celebrate the 50th anniversary release of the iconic album “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd, Penn State Altoona will offer tribute performances at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 18-20 in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Audience members will be immersed in the psychedelic world of the 1970s through music, movement and light. Penn State Altoona faculty Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber (vocals), Harold Hayford (music) and KT Huckabee (dance and movement) are excited to bring this collaboration to life with lighting design by William Kenyon, head of the Lighting Design program at the University Park campus, and Kyle Artone, emerging theatre design artist in Residence for fall 2023, and his spectacular, other-worldly costume design for this production.

“With live musicians, comprised of faculty, community and students, along with student and community singers and dancers, we will celebrate the impact this album has had on our culture,” said Huckabee. “The album ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ was looking at mental health, surrounding anxiety and control, and concerns about consumerism, isolation vs. solitude: all relevant in today’s world. No answers are provided, but exploration, consideration and the utilization of art to bring these concerns back out in the open is necessary for creating understanding and new approaches.”
