ALTOONA, Pa. — Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, professor of English, creative writing, and African literature at Penn State Altoona, has two poems featured in the June 2022 issue of Poetry magazine, which, according to the publication, is “the oldest monthly devoted to verse in the English-speaking world.”
Jabbeh Wesley's works “Healing Will Come: Elegy After Natural Disaster” and “Black Woman Selling Her Home in America” are published in print, online and in audio form.
Poetry magazine editors also conducted an interview with Jabbeh Wesley about surviving the Liberian civil war, her family’s journey to America, and her poetry’s examination of the lives of survivors of that war.
