LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Penn State Altoona softball’s catcher Cameryn Feathers, of Martinsburg, was selected to the third team of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s NCAA Division III All-Region VII team, which was announced Friday, May 17.

Feathers had a banner year for the Penn State Altoona softball team, earning a handful of accolades from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference while also setting a pair of single-season records for the Lions program.

Prior to the start of the 2024 season, Feathers was voted by league coaches as the AMCC’s Preseason Player of the Year. She backed that honor up by putting together an excellent spring, culminating in being voted to the first team of the All-AMCC squad.

This season, Feathers started all 35 games for the Lions and set team single-season records for batting average (.518) and on-base percentage (.568). She led the AMCC in hits (58), batting average (.518), on-base percentage (.568), and slugging percentage (.786), while also ranking second in home runs (6), fourth in runs scored (36), total bases (88), and stolen bases (14), fifth in runs batted in (33), 10th in walks drawn (12), 11th in triples (3), and 27th in doubles (6). Behind the plate, Feathers threw out six attempted base stealers, the third-most in the conference. During the season, she was named the AMCC Player of the Week on March 11.

This is the second time that Feathers has been named to an NFCA All-Region VII team, as she was picked to the second team last year.

Penn State Altoona softball finished its 2024 season with an 18-17 overall record, including a 9-7 mark in the AMCC that placed the Lions fourth in the conference standings.
