NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference kicked off its celebration of NCAA Division III Week on Monday, April 10, by releasing its Winter All-Sportsmanship Team, which includes a representative from each of Penn State Altoona’s five winter teams.
All teams that compete for an AMCC championship select one member from each of their rosters who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be included on the All-Sportsmanship team. These individuals are selected by a vote of their teammates.
The student-athlete selected by each team must consistently demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct, respect, and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor. Such sportsmanship shall be evident toward teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and fans. The player also must serve as a positive representative of school spirit when a spectator at other teams' sporting events.
The five Penn State Altoona winter sport student-athletes voted to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship team by their teammates are:
- Women’s Swimming: Madison Coleman of Altoona
- Men’s Swimming: Isaac Swanson of Clearfield
- Women’s Basketball: Emma Kitko of Houtzdale
- Men’s Basketball: Chris Jarosz of Toronto, Ontario, Canada
- Women’s Bowling: Isabelle Forcey of Clearfield
The AMCC’s All-Sportsmanship team announcements will conclude later this year with the release of the nominees from spring sport teams.
