Theater Resource Unlimited, in association with Jeff Britton and Broadway Bound Productions Inc., will present John S. Anastasi's production of "Pied a Terre" Aug. 22 to 27 in the Paul R. and Margery Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona. The performance times are 7 p.m. Aug. 22, 23 and 24; 8 p.m. Aug. 25; 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Aug. 26; and 2 p.m. Aug. 27.
Written by local heart surgeon and playwright John S. Anastasi in 2004, the production premiered off-Broadway at the Beckett Theatre in September 2005; it is directed by Bradlee Bing and features an all-Equity cast. In "Pied a Terre," a wealthy, intelligent Connecticut socialite learns of her husband's secret Manhattan hideaway. Her painful discovery is interrupted by the sudden appearance of a beautiful young woman who seems to know her husband a little too well. Although this drama seems to be about a husband, his wife and his girlfriend, it is actually the story of three very different people, with each carrying a tremendous burden and each of whom is searching for a chance to heal.
Tickets for "Pied a Terre" are $10 for students and $15 for regular admission. Tickets are available at from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts Box Office at Penn State Altoona and before and during all performances. Telephone reservations may be made by calling the box office at (814) 949-5452.
