ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona will participate in the annual Douglass Day transcribe-a-thon from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Each year, thousands of people gather to help create new and free resources for learning about Black history through transcribe-a-thon events in which people gather to work side-by-side on a crowdsourcing transcription project.

This year, volunteers will transcribe items from the general correspondence of Frederick Douglass from the Library of Congress. Volunteers can drop in the Eiche Library at any time during the event or join via Zoom.

Douglass Day is presented by several collaborating organizations and hosted by the Center for Black Digital Research. More information is available on the Douglass Day website.
