UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State alumna and executive coach Julia Mullins will discuss neurodiversity and how it makes workplaces and communities stronger at the next Penn State Alumni Expert Series webinar from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1. This information will be relevant both to those identifying as neurodivergent and those looking to be more inclusive leaders by understanding how to recognize and support neurodivergent team members. Registration for the event is open now.

Presented by Penn State’s Alumni Career Services, the Alumni Expert Series shares career insights and advice from Penn State alumni each month, supporting the unit’s mission to help Penn Staters of all ages and experience pursue a lifetime of career success.

Mullins focuses on developing and supporting corporate leaders and entrepreneurs, and has an affinity for building neuroinclusive workplaces. She's led top talent development programs for large companies like T-Mobile US, and consulted with leaders across industries and the federal government with Deloitte. Mullins is an International Coaching Federation-credentialed associate certified coach and earned a certificate in leadership coaching for organizational performance from American University. She also holds a master of business administration from Penn State, a certificate in neuroscience for business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management and completed ADHD-specific training at ADD Coach Academy.

Mullins' Alumni Expert Series webinar will cover the basics of neurodiversity, from the earliest mentions in a graduate school thesis in the late 1990s to today’s vernacular, and how this inclusive term covers more than people might think. She will clarify terminology frequently used when referring to neurodiversity and share statistics related to some of the more commonly diagnosed conditions under the neurodiversity umbrella. Mullins also will examine available resources and address career planning and job search strategies.

Mullins also is certified in a number of psychometric assessments, including Hogan Assessments suite, for individuals and teams. She said she loves supporting people during leadership transitions and finds joy in connecting with people with ADHD and other neurodivergent leaders while helping them thrive in a neurotypical world.

Mullins has logged hundreds of coaching hours across industries including telecommunications, cybersecurity, legal, finance, human resources and more. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation, ADHD Coaches Organization and Children & Adults with ADHD.
