Applications now open for University Park students to join the Lion Ambassadors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Lion Ambassadors are looking for new members.   

Lion Ambassadors are students who assist the Penn State Alumni Association and serve the University through campus projects and philanthropic activities, as well as provide private tours and appear at campus events. 

Interested students can apply to become an ambassador through 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. Interviews for selected students will take place during the first week of the spring semester.  

The organization’s members commit themselves to the traditions of Dear Old State and express that through their pride, loyalty, spirit and enthusiasm for Penn State. To be considered for membership, applicants must be in at least their second year at the University Park campus with a minimum of three semesters remaining.  

Lion Ambassadors work to instill tradition and pride throughout the student body, alumni and future Penn Staters. They manage activities such as the S-Zone during every home football game, participate in professional development opportunities, conduct tours of campus, and serve as a liaison between current students and the Penn State Alumni Association. 

Candidates will be selected for a preliminary interview based solely on their application. Applicants will remain anonymous throughout the review of the written application. Final selections will be based on the application and a personal interview.

Nov. 8, 5-7 p.m., Hintz Family Alumni Center
