UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State will celebrate GivingTuesday on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and donors can help current Penn State students access the power of the Penn State alumni network even before they graduate. A gift of any size can make a big difference in a student’s life.
Every $30 gift will provide a student with four full years of membership in the Blue & White Society, the student arm of the Penn State Alumni Association. Preference will be given to first-year students from underrepresented communities at all Penn State campuses across the commonwealth.
Blue & White Society membership gives students access to leadership opportunities, special events, exclusive networking tools, and exposure to the scope and power of Penn State’s alumni network.
“I wouldn’t have the same Penn State experience if it wasn’t for the doors opened by membership in the Blue & White Society,” said Ameza Frazier-Rodney, a second-year Penn State student who received a Blue & White Society membership from the Alumni Association’s 2023 GivingTuesday campaign. “Access to the Blue & White Society provides me with a supportive network and helps me feel more connected to Penn State. I’m so thankful for the generosity of our alumni family.”
Although GivingTuesday won’t come until Dec. 3, the Penn State Alumni Association will begin accepting gifts here on Nov. 18.
“I am so excited to once again directly support students who need it most during our GivingTuesday campaign,” said Paul Clifford, CEO of the Penn State Alumni Association.
Clifford notes that donations made during this early fundraising period will have twice the impact, because gifts will be matched up to a total of $2,165 through the Alumni Association’s Katz Endowment.
“Numerous additional donors have stepped up to match donations as well, and we sincerely appreciate their generosity,” he said. “We hope encourage all Penn State alumni will contribute to this worthy cause and help give current Penn State students the best chance to succeed.”
